Don Cheadle is a remarkable actor. He brings authenticity to every character I’ve seen him portray. He is one of the most underrated actors in Hollywood, in my opinion, and deserves all the accolades that the biggest Hollywood stars receive. He brings depth and presence to every movie I’ve seen him in. Admittedly, I have not liked every movie he’s been in, but I have enjoyed his performance in them. His characters are believable. In the Ocean’s movies where he portrays Bashel Tarr, a Brit, his English accent is spot-on. I remember saying to a friend, ‘Oh, I didn’t know Don Cheadle was British,’ to which my friend replied, “He’s not, he’s from Missouri.” Wow! He was pretty believable to me. In Hotel Rwanda, a movie I reluctantly watched (anticipated that it would be a tear-jerker), I ended up being glued to the screen because of Don Cheadle. He portrayed Paul Rusesabagina, a man of utmost dignity, determination, compassion and resolve, as a hotel manager during the Rwandan genocide in 1994. Mr. Cheadle brings deep honesty to his roles. Whenever I see him being interviewed, he seems genuinely humble and grateful. He is never big-headed, guarded or hyper sensitive. And, his acting skills increase as he moves forward in his career. I look forward to the day he finally receives an Academy Award. He certainly has earned it. Additionally, I applaud Mr. Cheadle’s humanitarian efforts. He is a ‘bout it, bout it’ kind of dude. Kudos to Don Cheadle! Stream a few of his movies when you get a chance.
